YORK, Neb. (KOLN) – When an internship leads to full-time job, it’s a win for both the business and the employee, as was the case for a UNL student at Central Valley Ag.
We spoke with Matt Reese, now a field sales agronomist at CVA, who started as an intern with the cooperative.
“I got my foot in the door with what’s called the Platform Handshake, which is a sort of Indeed for interns,” said Reese. “The University sponsors it pretty heavily. You get online, you submit your application, you look for positions. With that, I submitted an application for an operations intern with CVA. Through the first internship I discovered that I liked sales, and the people here said, hey, let’s transition you into a sales role. This last summer I got to do a full-blown sales internship, and it turned into a paid job.”
