Art director/animator Ignacio Osorio (who won an Emmy for his motion work on CNN’s The Hippie Trails doc), conjures a tactile ode to geometric abstraction in this passion project, an intriguing mix of handmade collage and digital tools.
Ignacio Osorio: “I used Cinema 4D to design and animate the 3D elements and shadows. I then printed each frame and used the stills as a guide to recreate the 3D elements by hand with mixed media, allowing for the human touch to show in the final result.
“I noticed the sunlight’s striking impact as I worked by a window, integrating this look to bring further depth and perspective to the piece. It was a living experiment. I started with a concept that quickly evolved.”
The film was produced through New York/Los Angeles-based studio ODD (Office of Development & Design) with Oscar-winning audio company Wave Studios handling sound design.
