CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — Artificial intelligence is not just a tool for instruction in the classroom; it is becoming a vital part of keeping students safe, especially at Kenston Local Schools.

The district recently implemented AI-powered gun detection software within their security camera system, aiming to add a critical layer of protection to their comprehensive security plan.

“Time matters,” emphasized Superintendent Bruce Willingham, reflecting on the ever-present concern of school shootings. “The difference of a minute or two could be the difference in saving somebody’s life.”
