Lauryn Hill has responded to a lawsuit filed by her former Fugees bandmate, Pras Michél, who has accused her of fraud and breach of contract over their canceled 2023 tour. In a lengthy statement, Hill called the claims “baseless” and expressed disappointment in the legal battle.
Pras Michél’s lawsuit, filed on October 1, claims Hill mismanaged the 2023 world tour and rejected profitable offers. He alleges the tour was a “devious attempt” by Hill to profit, further accusing her of having “narcissistic tendencies.” Michél says the tour failed due to bloated expenses and poor marketing.
In response, Hill firmly denied the accusations, stating that Pras was in fact given a $3 million advance for the tour, primarily to help with his legal fees. She added, “Wyclef and myself deferred our full advances to make sure he had what he needed and was able to go.”
