Small nuclear reactors are all the rage right now.

Missing in the optimistic articles, though, is all the before and after of uranium mining and waste storage. Mining leaves radioactive tailings typically stored in lined ponds. There is no getting rid of it.

Waste needs to be buried deep in the ground where it remains dangerous for years.

We need to stop burying poisonous waste from fracking and mining, it gets into the groundwater and destroys the very soil we depend on for life. Before you buy that next $60,000 truck, consider installing a solar system first.
