Lin-Manuel Miranda & Eisa Davis Team Up for ‘WARRIORS’ Album Produced by Nas [Video]

Lin Manuel-Miranda and Eisa Davis are “musicalizing” the classic story of The Warriors for the modern day.

The duo teamed up to create a new WARRIORS album, which they’ve billed as an “immersive listening experience” for fans in a press release obtained by PEOPLE, retelling the story of the classic 1979 film through song. The project is due out on Oct. 18 via Atlantic Records.

“We’ve spent the past three years musicalizing the Warriors’ journey home, from the South Bronx to Coney Island,” the creators shared in a statement. “Along the way we’ve gotten to work with a lot of our favorite artists, and we’ll be announcing their roles on the album in the weeks ahead. We can’t wait to share these songs with you on October 18th.”
