MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Data shows Louisiana is seeing power bills slightly higher than the national average.
According to MarketWatch Guides’ latest analysis, using data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the average monthly bill in Louisiana is $143, while the national average sits at $137.
Data researcher Dayna Drake with MarketWatch Guides pointed out that although Louisiana’s average electricity bill is not drastically higher than the national average, almost 3% of a Louisiana residents’ median household income are going to electricity costs.
However, there are ways for that average Louisiana power bill of $143 to not weigh down on household budgets.
