GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers brought home the first gold ball in program history, defeating Regis in a five-set thriller for the Division 4 state championship.
“That was our goal, to just keep our energy, have fun – we definitely had fun,” Lancers outside hitter Ava Stuebs said. “I don’t know. I’m still speechless. I’m still shocked we’re champions. I don’t even know.”
“We’re playing for so many people out there, especially the little girls in the stands that want to be these players, my 2 daughters especially,” Lancers head coach Lacey Behnke said. “These were the girls a few years ago that were in the stands that watched this program and now they’re a part of it, and they’re just taking this legacy further.”
In the Division 2 championship game, Luxemburg-Casco fell to Catholic Memorial, 3-0. Enjoy the highlights above!
