Mark Zuckerberg has revealed his ‘time machine’ to the future, in the form of Meta‘s first pair of augmented reality (AR) glasses.
Meta – the parent company to Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp – showed off its first working prototype of AR glasses, called Orion, during its annual Connect conference.
At first glance, the chunky black glasses look like any other basic pair of spectacles.
However, Zuckerberg explained at the event that the glasses can use holograms to overlay digital content on to the real world.
‘For now, I think the right way to look at Orion is as a time machine. These glasses exist, they are awesome and they are a glimpse of a future that I think is going to be pretty exciting,’ the Meta Chief Executive said.
