Mason City sisters display quilts among 473 entries at the Nebraska State Fair [Video]

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KOLN) – In the Pinnacle Bank Expo Center, Clara and Eva twirl through aisles of over 400 hanging quilts. The sisters from Mason City, Nebraska, are wearing rainbow dresses and bows that match their equally colorful entries.

Clara is nine years old, but Eva is the youngest artist who has a piece in the Quilt Exhibits at seven years old.

“Somebody gave me some squares for a pattern, and I’m so happy that I got fifth place – at least a ribbon,” beamed Eva. “I just call the pattern butterflies because I don’t know what kind of pattern it’s called.”

The girls learned all they know from their mother, who also has pieces on display at the Nebraska State Fair.
