MAULDIN, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Mauldin High School Mavettes have been invited to travel to the Big Apple and be in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The Upstate dance team received the call in January that they were selected to dance in the streets of New York City with 500 other dancers for the 98th annual parade.
“I am so excited, its like a once in a lifetime moment, a lifelong dream,” said Sarah Bloomingburg, captain of the Mavettes. “I can’t even wait for it. Its so close too!”
Now, the Mavettes is working to perfect a dance they will perform in less than two weeks.
The team will travel to New York on November 23 to start rehearsals.
