LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – The date for the hearing concerning three different 911 service outages in the last year has been set.

The hearing will be held on November 4, with November 5 being set aside should a second day of testimony be necessary.

An initial hearing was held in January regarding an outage in August, but the hearing in question will cover outages on August 31, 2023, and April 17 and July 9 in 2024.

As the investigation now includes the latest outages, the Nebraska PSC conducted additional data requests and sought analysis on 911 network infrastructures.

During the hearing, Commissioners and legal staff will question the carriers directly. Testimony during the hearing may also include invited guests.

As the hearing is investigatory in nature, public comment will not be taken during this hearing.
