OB/GYN practice using new approach to recruiting providers [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – One local OB/GYN practice in the area is seeing a shortage of doctors and leaving their group to begin recruiting in a different way.

Many medical groups across the country are experiencing a lack of doctors and healthcare providers, leaving them no choice but to have longer waitlists. Western Mass News reached out to some patients in the area who have had a first-hand experience with a lack of local healthcare providers. One person told us: “I have had to move all of my doctors to Connecticut because of the shortage of doctors and surgeons.” Another person said, “I’ve now gone over a year without an annual and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be anytime soon to be able to get in…I have had to schedule two months out and ended up going to a free clinic in an attempt to solve my symptoms.”
