ChatGPT maker OpenAI and American defense technology firm Anduril have joined forces to make and deploy artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for defense.
The announcement on Wednesday marks the first time OpenAI has agreed to form close ties with defense industry, making it a pivot from its earlier stance. Earlier, the company was involved with the military in limited context – like suicide prevention, disaster relief, and other such issues.
The partnership aims to bring together OpenAI’s advanced models with Anduril’s defense systems and Lattice software platform to help U.S. defense systems that protect the military and assets from unmanned drones attacks and other aerial devices.
