Platte County predator sentenced to 19 years after child tells teacher [Video]

PLATTE CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Platte City man will spend 19 years behind bars for creating and possessing child pornography and molesting a child.

Timothy D. Lowery pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of possession of child pornography, and child molestation.

“This child predator was brought to justice because a brave child had the courage to tell a school teacher what was happening,” said Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd.

Authorities obtained a search warrant, and found compromising images of the child victim on the defendant’s phone.

“I hope any other child or adult who has suffered abuse will find the strength to report what has happened to them,” said Zahnd.”

This case was investigated by the Excelsior Springs Police Department and the Platte County Sheriff’s Department.
