PlayStation spot ‘gamifies’ everyday life [Video]

Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a 98-second film for PlayStation spotlighting how fun life can be when people take play seriously.

Created by Adam & Eve/DDB, “PS5: Play has no limits” opens in a bustling city. It shows someone pressing the button with the PlayStation logo on it at a crossing, which causes the traffic lights to flicker on.

Instead of the usual green, amber and red traffic lights, the symbols on the PlayStation controller appear. This then causes the world around them to transform into a game, as dustbins turn into basketball hoops, staircases convert into slides and buildings become obstacle courses.

The ad ends with the line: “Play has no limits.”

The film was directed by Frédéric Planchon through Academy Films. It was created by Gaby Grant and Jane Barker.

Media planning and buying was handled by EssenceMediacom.
