“Machines and AI will work on the information and data which has been fed to them”, says Management Guru Prof Das Narayandas in a high-voltage session at the India Today-Business Today AI Conference. Asked the doomsday question by Rahul Kanwal, Executive Director, Business Today whether AI and machines could ever take over humankind, the Edsel Bryant Ford Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School reminded the audience of the age-old phrase ‘Garbage In, Garbage Out’. The Professor spoke in detail of the three kinds of decisions leaders have to make – descriptive analytics, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics, and about the role Artificial Intelligence can play in each. He emphasised that churning through data remains the biggest strength of machines and AI.
