GREENVILLE, S.C (WSPA) – Greenlink, a public transportation agency in Greenville, said the use of public transit is growing in the Upstate.
Their numbers have surpassed pre-pandemic levels and they’re looking to hire more people for the extra help.
Greenlink said with more than 2,500 rides a day, there’s a need to expand.
“It’s a service that we see more and more people coming to use,” Nicole McAden, Customer Experience Manager at Greenlink said.
Greenlink said they are one of very few transit agencies across the country to have a rise in ridership after the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2023, they said they had more than 750,000 trips on their buses and the number is continuing to grow larger.
With 12 routes currently operating Monday through Friday, from 5:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m., and Saturdays, from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., Greenlink said they are hoping to extend services.
