Pueblo hospitals introduce life-saving technology [Video]

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) – Around 350,000 hospitalized patients die of sepsis each year, but doctors at UCHealth facilities in Pueblo are saying this technology they’re introducing will significantly reduce this number.

The technology has been introduced at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center and Parkview Pueblo West Hospital.

The technology is an AI program monitoring patients. The program is part of the UCHealth Virtual Health Center (VHC), which is located in Aurora, CO.

If something doesn’t look right with a patient’s vitals, such as changes in blood pressure, the AI machine catches it and alerts critical care nurses, physicians and technicians. These professionals then let the bed-side nurses at Parkview hospitals know about the alert so the patient can be immediately treated for sepsis.
