MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – A 14-year-old Blackman High School student was killed, and two other students were hurt in a car crash Tuesday morning.
Rutherford County School District leaders said the students were heading back to the school after leaving a volleyball tournament when the crash happened.
Neighbors in the Murfreesboro community said the news spread quickly of an accident involving teens.
“I heard there was an incident over on Veterans Parkway, there was an SUV and a car with some children in it,” Brian Johnson said.
Johnson lives right in front of the school. He said he was home the morning police say a 47-year-old driving an SUV was trying to turn left onto Veterans Parkway when they crashed into a car filled with Blackman High School students.
