School threat report for September [Video]

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has released a report on school threats and students charged this month in the state. SLED says it is aware of over 60 threats targeting schools throughout 23 counties since Sept. 4, 2024.”These threats are extremely serious and will be treated as such,” a news release from SLED said. According to SLED, many of the threats appear to be shared between students through social media or other digital messaging apps.At this time, 21 juveniles have been charged in connection to these school threats in South Carolina.“School threats are not a joke,” said SLED Chief Mark Keel. “Law enforcement takes every threat seriously, and everyone needs to understand that there are serious consequences.”SLED says its Behavioral Science Unit has been requested to assist with six school threat investigations, each in a different county.SLED said it continues to work with local law enforcement, as well …
