CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – During Tuesday night’s session of the Democratic National Convention, Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth championed reproductive rights and slammed Donald Trump.
Duckworth generally uses a wheelchair, but Tuesday night she walked across the convention stage on her prosthetic legs and the former military helicopter pilot issued a message of defiance aimed at former President Donald Trump.
“I went to war to protect America’s rights and freedoms, so I take it personally when a five-time draft dodging coward, like Donald Trump, tries to take away my rights and freedoms in return,” Duckworth said.
Especially, she said, when it comes to her daughters, both of whom she said would not be alive but for reproductive health care.
