PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – FOX 12 got an inside look at the new and improved terminal at Portland International Airport, which is set to open in a few weeks.
Hundreds of local craftspeople are hard at work putting on the finishing touches of the terminal. Ticket counters and art installations are in place, and local concessions are almost ready for business.
The landscape architects who worked on the terminal say they wanted to create an immersive experience. They say they wanted travelers to feel like they had arrived in the Pacific Northwest, even before they left the airport.

The terminal features 72 live trees, and there are shops and restaurants before the security checkpoints, so people can enjoy the amenities without a plane ticket.
