An incorrect news story claiming comedian Steve Harvey was dead may have been AI-generated.

The Family Feud host’s name was trending on Tuesday after reports circulated he had passed away, but they were quickly proven to be false.

Now media site The Wrapis claiming the original article about his passing was generated with artificial intelligence.

The article with the headline “Steve Harvey Passed Away Today: Remembering The Legacy Of A Comedy Legend” was first posted to Trend Cast News. But it gained traction when it was shared by Newsbreak, a news aggregate site with more than 50 million monthly users.
