Libertarian strategist Tim Miller called out the “over the top” praise of “vigilante murder” on Tuesday during his podcast, just a day after he made comments about how “attractive” UnitedHealthcare CEO’s alleged assassin looked.
Since authorities arrested 26-year-old Luigi Mangione on Monday, political pundits and online users have repeatedly commented on the Maryland native’s looks, with some remarking how “hot” he appears. On “The Bulwark,” Miller, the host of the show, began by saying that the blame for Mangione’s alleged actions has led to the romanticization of him online.
“I think that all this radicalization talk is just simply [a] fancy excuse making for people who are living in decadent times. It is creating an environment that gives people a rationalization for defending horrible actions or for acting horribly or for voting for somebody that they know is bad,” Miller said.
