Students welcomed back to class in the Elm City [Video]

NEW HAVEN CT. (WFSB) – New haven superintendent Dr. Madeline Negron, along with Hillhouse High School’s new principal spent the morning welcoming kids to the classroom.

With roughly 19,000 students in 41 schools there’s sure to be some first day jitters– but also many who are looking forward to what the new school year will bring.

“I’m kind of nervous but yeah I’m ready,” one student said.

“I’m very excited to see Miss Iggy,” another student added. “I wanted to be in Miss Iggy’s class because she’s nice.”

While most New Haven students returned to the classroom this morning, the Elm City’s littlest learners – those in Pre-k, will start after Labor Day.
