The global head of AI design has been leveraging his long career in design and marketing to help Coke – a brand founded in 1892 – maintain its cultural cachet in the age of AI.

At the very top of the homepage of his website, Dominik (Dom) Heinrich has placed one of his own quotes, which reads: “AI is an opportunity to be more human again.” The operative word is “again,” implying that something fundamental to our humanity has been lost – but that can be regained.

The quote might strike some as counterintuitive, as many view AI as antithetical to human creativity, emotion, relationships and authenticity – a robotic prosthetic that threatens to replace some of the attributes upon which we as a species most pride ourselves.
