North Texas resident joins Y’all-itics to discuss why she’s moving abroad and how she’s helping others do the same
FORT WORTH, Texas — Jana Lynn Sanchez is a self-described “mouthy liberal.”
As such, she decided she needed an exit strategy if her side lost the election.
Democrats not only lost, but lost bigly.
And her exit strategy?
Leaving the U.S. for Holland and Spain.
“I personally have lost faith in the democratic process for sorting out the issues. The main reason being the movement of younger people and people of color towards Trump in an election when the economy was great,” Sanchez told us on Y’all-itics.
But many demographic groups, including a large number of Latino voters, pivoted to President-elect Donald Trump precisely because of the economy and their economic anxiety.
According to exit polls from several sources, 46% of Latinos voted for Trump, a record high for a Republican Presidential nominee. But when focusing on Latino men, that number jumped to 55%.
