U.S Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg visits Lansing for construction project [Video]

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Before President Biden’s appearance in Ann Arbor, Pete Buttigieg makes multiple appearances in Lansing for construction progress.

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg highlighted the hard work of union workers on construction projects this Friday. Buttigieg visited Lansing Community College to tour the IBEW training facility and the bridge construction of I-127.

“When I’m with the apprentices,” said Buttigieg. “I get the chance to see how they are not just transforming our infrastructure. They’re transforming their futures.”

Since the Bipartisan Law was passed, $6.8billion has been invested in roads, bridges, public transit, ports, and airports.

“You know, these are projects that have needed work for a long time, but often a lack of funding stood in the way,” said Buttigieg. “The state has stepped up with state funding were stepping up with federal funding.”
