UNL student shares journey of grief after losing father to suicide [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – At the thick of the holidays, families around the country are planning to get together to make new memories. But, for some people, the merry season is spent looking back on the good times they’ve had with loved ones who are no longer here.

McKenna Grass, a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is just one of the many people coping with the never-ending journey of grief and loss.

“I had lost like fish or animals,” McKenna said. “But death to me was such a crazy concept. I’d ask my older sister, ‘What do you mean? When’s dad coming home?’”
