LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – As her impressive high school career nears its end, Faith Venable makes her mark in Lincoln Pius X volleyball history. Venable recently broke the school’s single-match kills record with a 36-kill effort at Omaha Westside. Venable said she was unaware of the record until after the match.
“That was just surreal,” Venable said. “I really didn’t expect that until I got off the court and people told me. I was surprised. I give credit to my setter and my passers.”
Four days later, the 6-foot-1 outside hitter surpassed 1,000 career kills. Venable is a returning All-State selection who is committed to play at Omaha. She’s an explosive hitter looking to lead the Thunderbolts back to the NSAA State Tournament. This year, Lincoln Pius X is competing in Class B.
