Volunteers bring Christmas story to life in South Hill in Journey to Bethlehem [Video]

SPOKANE, Wash. – Every year, hundreds of volunteers from over 30 different Christian churches in the region come together to create the Journey to Bethlehem event.

This annual tradition is hosted at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on the South Hill, located at 57th and Freya.

The event features a guided tour every 5-10 minutes, taking groups through several stops that replicate what locations might have looked like during the time of Jesus’ birth.

Thousands of people visit South Hill each year to experience this immersive retelling of the Christmas story.

Visitors can also enjoy live animals, including sheep, goats, donkeys, and a camel. The event is traditionally held on the first weekend in December.

This year, it will be open to the public from December 6-8. Doors will open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
