Alabama football has plenty of fresh faces in the defensive backs room, and several didn’t get to Tuscaloosa until after the spring.

The Crimson Tide added three defensive backs from the transfer portal after spring football, including Kameron Howard, King Mack and DaShawn Jones.

Howard joined from Charlotte, Mack joined from Penn State and Jones joined from Wake Forest. Each made their practice debut in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday when Alabama began preseason practices.

“I love their energy, I love their attitude,” Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer said. “They give great effort. They’ve really meshed well with the whole team. I think there’s a ton of respect by their teammates. That’s what you want. A lot of that starts with just their character and the work ethic that follows along.
